Chandigarh: A controversy erupted on social media after a post allegedly issued a threat against Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria.
The post was shared by Dr. Raj Shekhawat, founder and national president of the Kshatriya Karni Sena, Gujarat earlier on Tuesday.

The post, written in Hindi and shared online, warned the Governor to “stay within his limits” and accused him of insulting Maharana Pratap. It went on to make an explicit call to violence, urging Karni Sena members to attack the Governor “whenever and wherever found.” The message has since drawn widespread condemnation for its incendiary language.
Dr. Shekhawat identifies himself as a former Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who served for eight years, including during the Kargil War and counter-terrorism operations in the Kashmir Valley. The post was shared under his name and designation as the organization’s national president.
Political leaders and civil society members have criticized the statement, calling it a direct threat to a constitutional authority and a serious breach of law and democratic norms. Legal experts note that issuing threats and inciting violence against a Governor constitutes a grave criminal offense and warrants immediate investigation.
As of the time of reporting, there has been no official response from the Raj Bhavan. Authorities are expected to examine the social media post and determine appropriate legal action.
