Top Maoist Leader Ramdhar Majji with ₹1-Crore Bounty Surrenders Along with 11 Others in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: In a major blow to Maoist operations in the MMC (Maharashtra–Madhya Pradesh–Chhattisgarh) zone, 12 senior cadres — including top Central Committee member Ramdher Majji — surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh’s Khairagarh Chhuikhadan Gandai district.

Top Leader With ₹1 Crore Bounty Surrenders

Ramdher Majji, one of the most wanted Maoist leaders in central India, surrendered along with divisional commanders at the Bakarkatta police station. Majji and his associates handed over multiple weapons, including AK-47s, INSAS rifles, SLRs, 303 rifles, and carbines.

Women Cadres Among Surrendered Members

The group included six women cadres — Lakshmi, Sheela, Yogita, Kavita, Sagar, Lalita, and Janaki — many of whom held leadership roles. ACMs Ramsingh Dada and Sukesh Pottam, along with DVCMs Chandu Usendi and Prem, were also among those who surrendered.

Major Setback to Maoist Network

Officials say the surrender is one of the biggest setbacks to Maoist strength in recent years and could trigger more defections. With Majji stepping down, the MMC zone’s leadership is believed to be significantly weakened, marking a potential turning point in the region’s anti-insurgency efforts.
