Blood Moon Tonight: India to Witness Longest Total Lunar Eclipse Since 2022

New Delhi: The second and last lunar eclipse of the year will take place in India today i.e. on Sunday. This will be a total eclipse i.e. a blood moon and it can be seen from anywhere in the country. This will be the longest full lunar eclipse visible in India after the year 2022.

The view of the lunar eclipse will last from around 10 pm to 3 hours and 28 minutes. Out of this, 82 minutes will be a complete lunar eclipse. During this time, the Earth will come between the Sun and the Moon, due to which its shadow will fall on the Moon and the Moon will appear red-orange in colour. This is called the Blood Moon.

This is the first time after July 27, 2018 that the eclipse will be visible from all parts of the country. It can be seen with the naked eye. No glasses or filters are required for this. However, it can be seen clearly when viewed through binoculars or a telescope.

The eclipse will be visible in many parts of the world

The eclipse will be visible in many parts of the world including India, Asia, Western Australia and Europe. According to experts, people in Asia and Australia will be able to see the most spectacular view because the moon will be high in the sky at the time of the eclipse. People in Europe and Africa will be able to see it for a short time during moonrise.

It is estimated that about 77% of the world’s population will be able to see the entire eclipse. It will be visible in Bangkok from 12:30 to 1:52 pm, in Beijing and Hong Kong from 1:30 to 2:52 pm, in Tokyo from 2:30 to 3:52 pm and in Sydney from 3:30 to 4:52 pm.
