Tributes paid to Ratan Tata during Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): A substantial gathering took place at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where many individuals came together to honor the legacy of veteran industrialist Ratan Tata during the Ganga Aarti on Thursday evening.

As devotees illuminated diyas and offered prayers, they celebrated Tata’s remarkable life, his contributions to Indian industry, and his philanthropic efforts.

The atmosphere was one of profound respect and gratitude as people reflected on his visionary leadership and dedication to social issues. Tata passed away on Wednesday night, October 9, at the age of 86, in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. His last rites were conducted on Thursday evening at the Worli Crematorium in Mumbai, with full state honors.

Noteworthy attendees included his stepmother, Simone Tata, and his close associate, Shantanu Naidu, along with Tata’s adopted stray dog, Goa, who also came to pay tribute.

Ratan Tata’s death has sparked widespread condolences and tributes from global leaders who recognized his visionary leadership, charitable work, and lasting influence on international relations. Tata, who served as the Chairman of Tata Sons and the Tata Group from 1991 until his retirement in 2012, was later named Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons. He received the prestigious Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, in 2008. Under his guidance, the Tata Group saw significant international growth, notably acquiring esteemed brands such as Jaguar Land Rover and Tetley. His dedication to innovation and sustainability motivated a new generation of entrepreneurs.
