Two bodies found in pool of blood in Jaisalmer

Jaipur: Tension gripped Mohangarh town in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on Tuesday after two bodies were discovered lying in a pool of blood, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Trader and Accountant Found Dead

The deceased have been identified as Madanlal, a local grain trader, and his accountant, Revantram. Their bodies were found about six kilometres from the Mohangarh Mandi, reportedly killed on Monday night.

The gruesome discovery was made early Tuesday morning by temple priest Poker Puri, who was returning after performing the morning aarti at a nearby Hanuman temple.

Priest’s Testimony

“I came to wish Madanlal a Happy Diwali and saw several goats outside his shop. When I went closer to remove them, I saw the bodies of Madanlal and his accountant. I immediately informed the police,” the priest told reporters.

Community Outrage and Demands

The double murder has sparked panic and anger among traders in Mohangarh. Local shopkeepers and market associations have demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and called for increased night patrolling to ensure public safety.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Mohangarh Police Station rushed to the scene, accompanied by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to collect evidence. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to piece together the events leading up to the killings.

As the news spread, a large crowd of villagers gathered at the site. Additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area.

Authorities Probe Motive

Nachna Police Station Inspector Bhuta Ram told IANS that his team is thoroughly investigating the case to identify all those present near the scene and to establish a motive.

“Authorities are probing all angles, including personal enmity and business rivalry, to determine the motive behind the crime,” he said.
