Two India-Flagged Ships Carrying 92,000 Tonnes of LPG to Dock at Gujarat Ports Amid Supply Concerns

New Delhi: Two India-flagged ships carrying around 92,000 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are scheduled to dock at ports in Gujarat on March 16 and March 17, offering relief amid concerns over LPG supply in the country.

Major LPG Consignment to Arrive in Gujarat

According to officials, the two vessels are transporting a combined cargo of nearly 92,000 tonnes of LPG, which will be unloaded at key ports in Gujarat. The arrival of the ships is expected to help stabilise supply and meet the growing demand for cooking gas across several regions.

Authorities said that the shipments are part of efforts to strengthen LPG availability and ensure uninterrupted supply to households and commercial users.

Arrival Expected on March 16 and 17

The first India-flagged vessel is scheduled to dock on March 16, while the second ship will arrive the following day on March 17. Once unloaded, the LPG cargo will be distributed through the existing supply chain to various bottling plants and distribution centres across the country.

Officials added that the timely arrival of these shipments will play an important role in easing supply pressure and maintaining stock levels.

Steps to Maintain Stable LPG Supply

The arrival of the two vessels comes at a time when authorities are closely monitoring LPG availability and demand patterns. Industry sources indicated that additional logistical arrangements are also being made to ensure swift unloading and transportation of the fuel.

The government and oil companies are working to ensure that there is no disruption in LPG supply to consumers, especially for domestic cooking gas connections under various public distribution and welfare schemes.
