    Criminals from UP fired at Uttarakhand police: They were entering the border, opened fire when stopped

    Miscreants from UP fired at Uttarakhand police this morning. The incident is from Dehradun, where the police were checking suspicious vehicles under Operation Prahar. During this, two young men riding a blue scooter without a number plate were signaled to stop.

    Seeing the police, the miscreants ran towards T-State instead of stopping. When the police pursued them, they fired at the team. In response, the police also fired, in which one miscreant was shot and fell injured.

    In this encounter that took place in the Basant Vihar police station area, two miscreants, including a notorious criminal from western UP, have been arrested.

    Broke the barrier and opened fire

    According to Dehradun Police, on April 26, Thana Basant Bihar Police was conducting a regular checking campaign at Harbanswala Barrier. During this time, an attempt was made to stop two suspects riding a blue scooter without a number plate. However, both youths broke the barrier and fled towards T-State.

    The police team promptly chased them. During this, one of the accused opened lethal fire on the police team. In response, the police also fired, in which one criminal was shot. The injured criminal was immediately sent to the hospital, while the other accused was caught by the police at the spot.

    Attempt to Enter Dehradun from Saharanpur

    The injured accused has been identified as Abdulla (37), a resident of Saharanpur, while the arrested accused Shahnawaz Salmani (33) is currently residing in the Sahaspur area of Dehradun. During the search, one illegal 315-bore pistol, one cartridge casing, and three live cartridges were recovered from each of them. The blue scooter used in the incident has also been seized by the police.

    On receiving information about the encounter, SSP Dehradun and SP City arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The field unit has collected evidence from the site of the incident. The police have filed a case against both accused under Indian law.
