UP Weather Turns Pleasant: Rain Alert in 69 Districts, Heatwave Eases

Today, Thursday, is the fourth day of the intense heat in UP. Strong winds have been blowing across the state since morning, and clouds are present. There is a rainfall alert in 69 districts today. Among these, hail may also fall in 24 districts. Winds can blow at a speed of 100 km per hour. The Meteorological Department says that heavy rain along with storms may continue until May 31.

Meanwhile, severe heat is also occurring across the state. The Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of a heatwave in 11 districts. Speaking of Thursday, Banda was the hottest city in the state at 47.8°C. In Prayagraj, a man covered his scooter to protect himself from the strong sunlight. In Ayodhya, a moving autorickshaw caught fire. Passengers jumped to save their lives.

The heat is at its peak in the summertime. In many cities of India, the temperature has crossed 45°C. The risk of heatstroke has increased due to the hot winds blowing along with the strong sunlight. When heatstroke occurs, the ‘body cooling system’ does not work properly. If not treated in time, this condition can be life-threatening.

Lucknow’s meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said-

A new western disturbance is becoming active from today. There is a situation of cyclonic winds at higher altitudes in South Bihar and surrounding areas. In such a scenario, there may be rain with thunderstorms in the state. This could provide relief from the heat. Temperatures may drop by 6–8°C.

How will the weather be in the next 5 days?

May 28: There will be rain in some areas of eastern UP. There may also be showers in some parts of western UP.
May 29: Light rain is likely across the state. The temperature will drop. However, the humidity will remain.
May 30: The rain will continue in most districts of the state. Lightning may occur along with storms.
May 31: Weather fluctuations will continue. There will be drizzle amid strong winds. No relief from the heat.
June 1: Bright sunshine will shine across the state. No possibility of rain. Temperature may increase by 2-3 degrees.
