Uttarakhand Board Exams from Feb 21; 1,261 Centres on Alert, Zero Tolerance for Cheating

New Delhi: The Uttarakhand Board of School Education’s high school and intermediate board exams begin February 21st. This year, the board has made it clear that a “zero tolerance” policy will be adopted against cheating. Three-tier mobile squads will conduct surprise inspections at the state, division, and district levels, while special monitoring will be maintained at 156 sensitive and 6 hypersensitive centers.

1,261 Examination Centers, Over 200,000 Students Participate

A total of 1,261 examination centers have been set up across the state, where over 200,000 students will appear. These include 50 single (girls/boys) and 1,211 mixed centers. This year, 24 new centers have also been added.

Based on sensitivity, 156 centers have been identified as sensitive and 6 as hypersensitive. Additional deployment of local administration and police forces will be made at hypersensitive centers. Flying squads will inspect centers without prior notice and check arrangements.

Tehri has the most centers, Champawat has the least

According to district-wise data, Tehri has the highest number of examination centers at 136, while Champawat has the lowest number at 44.

According to Board Secretary Vinod Kumar Simalti, applications from institutional and individual candidates have been received through the online portal. The process of issuing admit cards is in the final stages.

39 collection and 29 evaluation centers for answer sheets

39 centers have been set up for the collection of answer sheets. Evaluation will take place at 29 centers, 16 in Garhwal and 13 in Kumaon divisions. CCTV cameras have been made mandatory at all evaluation centers to ensure transparency.

Practical exams completed, now it’s time for the written exam

Practical exams were completed from January 16 to February 15. The main written examinations will now begin on February 21st. The Education Department claims that technical and administrative strictness will be maintained at all three levels—examination administration, monitoring, and evaluation—to ensure that the examination is conducted in a completely cheating-free environment.
