Two Youths Dead in Car-Bike Collision on Uttarakhand Highway, Traffic on National Highway halted, both in overspeed

In Uttarakhand, a taxi car and a bike collided head-on, after which both vehicles caught fire. Two youths riding the bike died in the accident. The incident took place on the Sitarganj-Tanakpur National Highway in Udham Singh Nagar this morning.

After the accident, traffic came to a standstill due to the flames in the car. After this, the fire brigade was called on the spot and the fire was controlled. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The accident took place around 8:30 am near Hanuman Mandir in Bidora Majhola Bazaar. It is being told that the collision of the taxi car and the bike was so strong that both the vehicles caught fire. There was chaos on the spot as the flames rose.

2. People pulled out the youths, took them to the hospital- The people present on the spot removed the two youths on the bike from the road and took them to a safe place. After this, the police and the 108-ambulance service were informed. Both the youths were taken to the sub-district hospital in Sitarganj, where doctors declared them dead after examination.

3. Traffic stopped due to fire, fire brigade found control- After the accident, traffic on the highway came to a standstill due to the flames in the car. On receiving the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. After this, the traffic was smoothed.

4. Police engaged in identifying the dead- As soon as the incident was reported, the police team reached the hospital and the spot. The police have launched an investigation into the matter. The deceased are yet to be identified. Police are trying to identify them and trace their families.

5. Possibility of fire due to CNG car- It is being told that the driver of the taxi car escaped from the spot after the accident. According to preliminary information, the car was powered by CNG. Prima facie, the cause of the fire is believed to be CNG. The police are investigating the real cause of the accident along with searching for the absconding driver.
