Dense Fog and Cold Wave Hit Uttarakhand: Dehradun Airport Advises Passengers

Dehradun: The continuous cold and fog in Uttarakhand is now affecting air travel. The Dehradun Airport (Jolly Grant) has appealed to passengers to check their flight timings before reaching the airport.

Fog in four districts, cold in hilly and plain areas

For the last three days, dense fog has been observed in the lower reaches of Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital in the morning and evening. Apart from this, light fog was observed in Champawat and Pauri. Along with cold, cold weather is also being felt in the higher reaches.

Meteorological Department warning: Chance of rain and snowfall

According to the Dehradun Meteorological Centre, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh will remain cloudy from tonight, rain and snowfall are expected tomorrow.

Cold wave from mountains to plains

The hilly regions of Uttarakhand are already facing cold weather, and now its effects are being felt in the plains as well. Every morning, dense fog covers the roads, reducing visibility. School children, elderly and office-goers are particularly affected by this cold and fog.

Dry weather, but fog will worsen the situation

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in all districts of the state on Friday. Although there will be no rain or snowfall, dense fog may affect road and rail traffic.

Cold weather during the day

Cold weather conditions will persist in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts during the day. This means that the day temperature will be below normal and cold.

Weather in Dehradun

The weather in the capital Dehradun on Friday will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. There is a possibility of fog. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 25 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 10 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological Department Advisory

The Meteorological Department has warned drivers and commuters to take special care in the morning and evening. Dense fog can reduce visibility suddenly, so special caution is required on highways and open areas.
