Uttarakhand weather: temp crosses 35°C, rain alert today

A yellow alert for rainfall has been issued in the districts of Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. In these areas, strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 km/h may accompany thunder and lightning, while light snowfall is expected in areas above 4000 meters.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Dehradun, the weather in other districts of the state is expected to remain dry for now. Sunshine is likely during the day, and there are no signs of major changes. Meanwhile, the effect of heat has also intensified in the plains. In Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, Rudrapur, and Kashipur, the temperature is around or above 35 degrees Celsius, causing noticeable heat during the daytime.

In the next 2 to 3 days, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the state could increase by up to 3 degrees Celsius.

April 19: In the districts of Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh, there is a possibility of very light rainfall, thunder and lightning, and light snowfall in areas above 4000 meters.

April 20: In the districts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh, there is a possibility of very light rainfall, thunder and lightning, and light snowfall in hilly areas, while other districts are expected to remain dry.

April 21: In all districts of Uttarakhand, the weather is expected to remain completely dry, with clear skies throughout the day and sunshine. There is no possibility of rain, thunder and lightning, or snowfall anywhere.
