Uttarakhand Weather Alert: Rain, Snowfall Expected in Himalayan Regions

Uttarakhand: The weather is set to change once again in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Center, Dehradun, rain and snowfall are expected in the higher Himalayan regions of the state today. The weather may remain unfavorable, especially in the border districts.

The Meteorological Department has urged special vigilance in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at many places in these five districts. In addition, isolated very light rain and lightning are also possible in all other mountainous districts of the state.

Snowfall in Higher Himalayan Regions

The changing weather will be most pronounced in the higher Himalayan regions. According to the department, light snowfall is expected in areas at altitudes of 3,300 meters or higher. This combination of snowfall and rain is expected to increase the severe cold in the higher altitudes.

Clouds also camp in the plains

Although heavy rainfall is less likely in the plains, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather may also affect some plain districts due to cloud movement. Rain and snowfall in the mountainous regions may also cause temperatures in the plains to drop, increasing the chill in the mornings and evenings.

Dehradun Weather Forecast

The weather in Dehradun is expected to be mostly clear to partly cloudy today. According to the weather department, thunderstorms may develop in some areas, leading to light activity.

Temperatures are expected to be around 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 15 degrees Celsius. Due to the changing weather, there will be a difference between day and night temperatures.
