Uttarakhand: Weather takes turn; heavy rainfall lashes various parts of state

The weather took a turn, bringing heavy rainfall to various parts of the state. Consequently, residents found relief from the rising heat that had persisted for the past few days. However, the heat is expected to make a strong comeback in the plains this week. Meteorologists have forecast a rise in temperatures.

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, normal temperatures could rise by 1 to 3 degrees within the next day or two. Following this, maximum temperatures are likely to remain 2 to 3 degrees higher than normal over the subsequent two to three days.

Possibility of Light Rain in Parts of the Hill Districts
The impact of the rain, snowfall, and hailstorms that occurred across most parts of the state in recent days has been evident in the temperatures of the plains over the last three days. In Dehradun, the maximum daytime temperature is currently being recorded at 3 degrees below normal.

This temperature deviation was even more pronounced in the hilly regions. Light rain is also likely in certain parts of the hill districts on Monday. Snowfall is forecast for areas situated at altitudes exceeding 4,500 meters. Furthermore, a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for several parts of the state, warning of gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.
