Young aspirants have been left disappointed by the new recruitment calendar released by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission. The calendar outlines 22 recruitment drives, 16 of which consist of examinations for the post of Lecturer. However, there is absolutely no mention in this calendar of key recruitment drives conducted by the Commission—such as those for PCS, Lower PCS, Review Officer, Assistant Review Officer, AE (Assistant Engineer), and JE (Junior Engineer). The only certainty is that the Commission has reserved two Sundays.
In this calendar, the Commission has listed recruitment activities scheduled from April 21 to December 6 of this year. The recruitment of Lecturers for Government Intermediate Colleges appears to be the Commission’s primary focus within this schedule. The PCS-J (Judicial Services) Main Examination is scheduled from April 21 to 24, while the PCS Main Examination is slated for April 27 to 30. However, there is no mention whatsoever in this calendar regarding *new* recruitment cycles for PCS, Lower PCS, or PCS-J positions.
Similarly, there is no information regarding the recruitment drives that young aspirants have been eagerly awaiting—including those for Review Officer, Assistant Review Officer, AE, and JE. Throughout the year, the Commission is set to conduct 16 main examinations for the post of Lecturer. This schedule includes main examinations for Physics on May 9, Civics on May 10, Hindi on May 30, History on May 31, Agriculture on June 11, Mathematics on July 5, Biology on July 12, English on July 26, Chemistry on August 23, Commerce on September 20, Geography on September 27, Economics on October 11, Sociology on October 18, Sanskrit on October 23, Home Science on November 29, and Art on December 6.
Meanwhile, screening examinations are scheduled only for the Review Officer (Accounts) Exam–2024 on May 19, and for High Court Review Officer, Typist, and Librarian positions on July 19. The Commission has reserved September 6 and October 4; the specific examinations to be held on these dates are yet to be determined. This uncertainty has become a source of growing anxiety among the youth.
