Man Dies After 250m Fall in Uttarkashi Gorge

Uttarkashi, April 21: In Mori a remote development block in the Uttarkashi district a man fell into a 250-meter-deep gorge and died. Upon receiving the information, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

The accident occurred on the Pav-Sirga motor road in Mori. The deceased has been identified as Khem Chand (41), a resident of Himachal Pradesh. It is reported that he fell into the deep gorge after his foot suddenly slipped. As soon as locals became aware of the incident, they informed the police. Subsequently, the SDRF team arrived at the site, conducted a rescue operation, and retrieved the individual from the gorge.

Body Sent for Post-mortem

The SDRF team recovered the individual’s body from the gorge in a deceased state and handed it over to the district police. The police have sent the body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination. Further legal action regarding the matter is currently underway.
