In his first remarks following recent jet incidents, US President Donald Trump said that the downing of an American military aircraft would not affect ongoing negotiations with Iran, according to reports.

Speaking briefly, Trump dismissed concerns that the situation could disrupt diplomatic efforts. “No, not at all. No, it’s war. We’re in war,” he said, emphasizing that military conflict and negotiations can continue simultaneously.

He also declined to provide details about search-and-rescue operations linked to the downed aircraft, citing the sensitive nature of the situation, and criticized media coverage as incomplete given the complexity of the mission.

Two US Military Aircraft Incidents Reported

Tensions escalated after two separate incidents involving US military aircraft in the Middle East on Friday.

An F-15E Strike Eagle was initially reported to have been shot down over Iran. One crew member has been rescued, while search operations for the second are still ongoing. Conflicting reports suggest the missing crew member may either be in Iranian custody or yet to be located.

In another incident, a second US Air Force combat aircraft went down in the region. Officials have not confirmed whether it crashed due to technical reasons or was shot down, and details about the crew and exact location remain unclear.
