Water Crisis in Delhi: government approach SC; petition filed, ask Haryana, UP and Himachal Pradesh to release more water

New Delhi : Delhi government has approached the Supreme Court for water crisis. In the petition filed on Friday, the Kejriwal government has appealed to the court to direct Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh to give extra water for a month.

The Delhi government has said that due to the heat, the demand for water in the city has increased a lot and the neighboring states should be directed to give more water for a month.

There is a huge shortage of water in the capital and Water Minister Atishi has accused Haryana of not giving Delhi’s share of water.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also appealed to the BJP to ask its governments in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to give water for a month.

Kejriwal wrote – do not do politics at this time

CM Kejriwal wrote in a post on X that the demand for water has increased a lot in the scorching heat. The water that Delhi used to get from the neighboring states has also been reduced. That is, the supply has reduced. We all have to solve this together. I am seeing that BJP allies are protesting against us. This will not solve the problem. If BJP talks to its governments in Haryana and UP and gets some water for Delhi for a month, then the people of Delhi will greatly appreciate this step of BJP. No one can control such scorching heat, but if we all work together, we can provide relief to the people from this.

    BJP protested against water shortage

BJP workers took out a protest march from Shahidi Park to Delhi Secretariat regarding the water crisis in Delhi. BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from New Delhi, Bansuri Swaraj, was also present in the protest.

She alleged that the AAP government has created an artificial water crisis. Delhi Jal Board was in profit of 600 crores in 2013. Today it is in loss of 73 thousand crores. Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for this.

Kejriwal is doing corruption in connivance with the tanker mafia

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of corruption regarding water. He said – The water crisis in Delhi is the result of Arvind Kejriwal’s mismanagement. They are imposing a fine of Rs 2000. This is not a fine but another way of corruption. They are encouraging tanker mafias. Every MLA of Kejriwal is in cahoots with the tanker mafia and selling water to the public and looting them.
