Ludhiana: A young man died in a road accident on R.K. Road in Ludhiana. The deceased has been identified as Manpreet Singh, a driver for Jyoti Roadways Transport. The accused driver fled the scene after the accident.
The accident occurred while returning from duty late at night
The deceased’s brother, Gurpreet Singh, stated in a police complaint that Manpreet was on duty at around 10 p.m. on May 7th when he was hit by an unknown speeding vehicle on R.K. Road. The driver fled the scene along with the vehicle.
Died during hospital treatment
The family learned about the accident through a phone call from an unknown person. The family rushed to the scene and admitted the injured Manpreet to the Civil Hospital. Doctors attempted to revive him, but he died during treatment on May 8th.
Manpreet leaves behind his wife and 7-year-old son.
Police are examining CCTV footage
The Moti Nagar police station of Punjab Police has registered a case against the unidentified driver and launched an investigation. Police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the accused.
