Young Man Murdered in Mohali, Blood-Soaked Body Found by Roadside

A young man was murdered in Jhampur area of Mohali. The body of the young man has been found in a pool of blood. Several knife marks have been found on the body of the deceased. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Maloya. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body and kept it in the mortuary of Kharar Hospital for postmortem. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

The police are investigating the matter. As part of the investigation, the police have obtained phone dump data of the spot and the surrounding area. Apart from this, it is also being ascertained how and under what circumstances Deepak Kumar reached the Jhampur area.

Police say that the investigation is being done keeping all aspects in mind and efforts will be made to unravel the case soon.

The auto-rickshaw driver was the first to see the body.

The incident happened on Saturday night. Around 9:36 pm, an auto driver was passing through the Jhampur area. During this time, he noticed a person lying on the road. At first, he thought that someone was lying there unconscious due to intoxication. When he came closer and shone his torch, he saw multiple knife wounds on the young man’s body, and blood was flowing from him.

Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the auto driver immediately informed the police. As soon as the information was received, people from the surroundings also gathered at the spot. The injured young man was then immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, where the doctors examined him and declared him dead.

The police also arrived late

According to people, even after the control room was informed, the Balungi police reached the scene around 10:30. People say that in such a serious case like murder, the police response was not as quick as expected. Even after the team arrived, the station in-charge Inspector Parivinkle Grewal reached the spot quite late.
