‘Chal Mera Putt 4’ denied release in India over Pakistani cast, Fans express disappointment

Amritsar, August 1: Punjabi film ‘Chal Mera Putt 4’ has not been approved for release in India, due to which Amrinder Gill’s fans are disappointed. This film was released worldwide today, but could not be released in India.

The censor board did not give it a certificate due to the presence of some Pakistani actors in the film. The film’s release date was fixed for August 1, but it could not get permission in India till the last moment.

The film’s team posted on social media and wrote-

It is releasing worldwide, but not in India. We tried our best… but some things are beyond our control. Thank you for supporting us. Your love means a lot to us.

Earlier, Diljit Dosanjh’s film ‘Sardarji 3’ was also not allowed to be released in India because of the presence of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film. The first parts of both these films have been super hits.

Know here why there is an objection to Pakistani artists?

Anti-India statements given after Pahalgam attack

The first part of ‘Chal Mera Putt’ has been praised for its emotional and humorous presentation of expatriate life. It featured Pakistani comedians like Iftikhar Thakur, Akram Uddas and Nasir Chinyoti. Iftikhar Thakur had made anti-India statements on the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent dispute between India and Pakistan.

In May 2025, during the Indo-Pak tension, he had said- If you come by air, bombs will fall on you, if you come by sea, you will be drowned, and if you come by land, you will be buried. This statement hurt the national sentiments.

Punjab CM also jumped into the controversy

After Operation Sindoor, on May 7, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann also jumped into this controversy. He said that there is starvation in Pakistan. I know everyone. He commented on the dire situation in Pakistan, saying there’s widespread hunger there. Recalling his time on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, he said, “I know many of them personally. Pakistani artists who shared meals with me back then used to joke, saying, ‘Please take over Lahore.’ One even said, ‘Take Karachi too, at least then we’ll have food to eat.’”
