The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed in the case of the disappearance of 328 sacred Saroops has sent summons to 40 current and retired officers of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to appear before the Police Commissioner’s office. Reacting to this matter, Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh Ji, has expressed concern over the alleged mental harassment being done to the officers during the investigation process.
Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh said that he has come to know through social media and other means that the SIT has again called 40 people to record their statements. He clarified that even before this, the statements of all have been recorded during the report of Dr. Ishar Singh.
He said, “An investigation should be conducted, but no one should be physically or mentally harassed in the name of investigation.”
The Jathedar Sahib said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is providing all kinds of support to the investigation team. He further said that the head of the SIT himself has also confirmed that the committee is getting full support in the investigation.
In such a situation, the administration and the government should conduct the investigation smoothly and not put unnecessary mental pressure on the officials. This matter is very sensitive for the Sikh community, as it is related to the dignity and record of the holy forms. Giani Raghbir Singh Ji expressed the hope that the investigation will be impartial and the truth will come out, but he reiterated that the government and the administration should take care of human values during the investigation.
