Petrol bomb attack on BJP district office in Sangrur late at night; creates stir in the area

Anti-social elements allegedly targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district office, located on Upali Road in Sangrur, with a petrol bomb late Monday night. The incident came to light when the office was opened on Monday morning. Upon receiving the information, police officials arrived at the scene, assessed the situation, and initiated an investigation.

Following the report of the incident, Sangrur DSP Dalbir Singh, CIA In-charge Sandeep Singh, and City Police Station SHO Sukhdev Singh arrived at the BJP office with a police team. The officials inspected the site and gathered information from the surrounding area.

The police are investigating the facts of the case and making efforts to identify those behind the attack. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

However, there is resentment among party leaders and workers regarding the attack on the BJP office. BJP District President Maninder Singh Kapial and former District President Sandeep Singh Deval strongly condemned the incident.

The BJP leaders alleged that the law and order situation in Punjab is continuously deteriorating. They stated that while anti-social elements were previously targeting police stations and other institutions, political party offices are no longer safe either. They demanded strict action against the perpetrators.

The BJP leaders mentioned that the party’s state president, Kewal Singh Dhillon, has also been informed about the incident. The police have launched an investigation, examining various aspects, including footage from nearby CCTV cameras.
