RJD expels rebel leader Mohammad Afzal Ali Khan for six years from party

Darbhanga: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has expelled Mohammad Afzal Ali Khan from the party’s primary membership for six years for failing to withdraw his nomination from the Gaurabauram assembly seat in Darbhanga district. This action was taken for defying the party leadership’s decision.

As part of mutual coordination within the India Alliance, it was decided to award the 79 Gaurabauram Assembly seat in Darbhanga district to the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). The VIP’s official candidate for this seat, Santosh Sahni, has the support of the India Alliance.

In light of RJD National President Shri Lalu Prasad’s decision, Mohammad Afzal Ali Khan was expected to withdraw his nomination in accordance with coalition dharma. However, he defied the party’s decision and did not withdraw his nomination, which was believed to be aimed at benefiting the NDA alliance.

Due to this dogmatic conduct and going against the decision of the leadership, Mohammad Afzal Ali Khan, father-Late Asgar Ali Khan, Village PO, Thana-Jamalpur, Block Kiratpur, District-Darbhanga, has been expelled from the primary membership of the party for six years.

This office order was issued by RJD Bihar President Mangani Lal Mandal on November 3, 2025. A copy of this order has also been sent to the District President of Darbhanga District Unit, Mr. Uday Shankar Yadav, for information and necessary action.
