According to official data, the national capital’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 328 at 8 a.m., an improvement from 354 recorded at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Meteorological officials have indicated that colder conditions are likely to set in as the month progresses, which may further impact air quality if wind speeds remain low. 

In Noida, the AQI has also shown signs of improvement, with levels close to 255 at some stations.

According to CPCB data, Sonia Vihar recorded an AQI of 343, while Wazirpur recorded 358.

The area around India Gate and Kartavya Path was blanketed in a dense layer of toxic smog with AQI in the area recorded at 356 in the 'very poor' category.

Several monitoring stations recorded even higher concentrations of particulate matter

Delhi recorded an AQI of 270 on Sunday morning, placing the city in the ‘poor’ category despite minor improvement.

The city’s 24-hour average AQI on Friday stood at 369, extending Delhi’s persistent run of very poor air quality through half the month.
