A year after the Election Commission (EC) ordered a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, NCERT has included chapter on SIR in Class 9 Social Science textbook.
The revised chapter, titled "The Role of the Judiciary in Our Society," goes beyond explaining the hierarchy of courts and access to justice, and addresses challenges faced by the judicial system,

New Delhi: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will soon introduce a dedicated module on Operation Sindoor for school students across Classes 3 to 12, education ministry sources said. Two separate modules, one for Classes 3 to 8 and another for Classes 9 to 12, are currently under preparation and are likely.
The clarification came amid a report claiming confusion in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools over the unavailability of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks.
The row started when NCERT in the the new edition of the books made some changes which included removing of the excerpt of the comments of Supreme Court.
