1. India clocks robust 7.7 pc GDP growth in 2025-26, Q4 growth at 7.8 pc

New Delhi: India’s GDP growth was estimated at a robust 7.8 percent in the January-March quarter (Q4) of 2025-26, as a result of which the growth rate for the full financial year works out to 7.7 percent on the back of a strong performance of the agriculture, construction, and services sectors, data released by the Ministry of Statistics on Friday showed. The secondary sector recorded a strong 8.8 percent growth while the tertiary sector grew by 9.9 percent, according to the official statement.

3. Bloody clash over vehicle crossing: Nihang shot dead in Batala, attacker also shoots himself

Batala (Gurdaspur): A minor dispute over vehicle crossing in Batala city of Punjab escalated into a bloody clash. A Nihang was Killed and two youths were injured in a fierce exchange of fire between two groups at Symbol Chowk. Following the incident, one of the attackers attempted suicide by shooting himself. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Jaipur (Rajasthan): A suspected case of Ebola virus disease has been reported in Rajasthan after a foreign national visiting the state from Uganda exhibited Ebola-like symptoms, prompting health authorities to activate precautionary protocols while awaiting laboratory confirmation.

The woman from Uganda who arrived in Jaipur from Sharjah on Friday morning was flagged during routine airport screening after exhibiting symptoms consistent with Ebola virus disease. She has since been admitted to RUHS Hospital in Jaipur and placed in strict isolation.
