In a significant development, Punjab Police on Sunday busted a cross-border drug smuggling racket and apprehended two drug traffickers who were colluding with Pakistan-based smugglers, in the trafficking of drugs in the state.
A man living in Tarn Taran, Punjab died of a heart attack in Calgary, Canada. The deceased has been identified as Rupinder Singh alias Roop, a resident of village Dev in Tarn Taran.
Giving information about this encounter, DSP Kamalbir Singh said that several cases of NDPS, Arms Act and theft have already been registered against the accused.
