Punjab and Chandigarh will face cold wave and dense fog conditions as the IMD issues an orange alert till January 6

As on other days, the weather is clear today. There is no fog in the interior areas of Punjab and Chandigarh, although there is a light fog on the highways. Light sunshine is expected today, even though the sun hasn’t shone fully for the past few days. Cold winds are blowing due to the snowfall.

Dense fog prevailed in Patiala and Adampur, where visibility was recorded at 60 meters.

The influence of upper air circulation also persists over North Haryana and its surrounding areas.

This change is due to the arrival of a Western Disturbance in the hilly regions.

Its impact will not be limited to the hilly areas only; cold winds will reach Punjab and Chandigarh, as well as Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan.

The lowest temperature of 3.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Faridkot.
