In a major blow to narcotics trafficking, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Ludhiana Zonal Unit, seized nearly 10 kg of heroin valued at around Rs 19.90 crore in the illicit market after a high-speed chase on the outskirts of Ludhiana.
This operation was carried out in an area adjacent to the India-Pakistan border—a region where instances of smuggling have frequently been reported in the past.
The Lopoke Police Station in Amritsar has achieved significant success in two separate cases. The police seized 2 kilograms and 290 grams of heroin and two modern Glock pistols.
